Environmental advocates on November 24 have debunked claims that waste-to-energy (WtE) incinerators will bring “sustainability” and “stability” to communities.
The groups said the country’s policies and systems in the power sector “promote destructive and costly energy” but fail to protect the interest of the consumers.
“Don’t be afraid to criticize! We need your criticism. Many of you, for example, are critical of environmental pollution. We need this! Be free in criticism,” said the pontiff.
The Center for Energy, Ecology, and Development (CEED) praised the filing of a resolution in the House of Representatives seeking for an elaborate public discussion on the country’s RE potentials.
